“At-Will” Employment –
All
VisionOnline employees
are hired as “at will”
employees, which means that
they may be terminated by
the Company with or without
cause at any time, with or
without notice. In addition,
all new hires are placed in
a probationary status for
the first 180 days of
employment. Employees who
remain employed after the
probationary period remain
“at will” employees.

Pay Days:
VisionOnline processes
pay roll twice a month: on
the 21st for the first 15
days of the month and on the
7th of the month for the
16th through the end of the
preceding month. In the
event a payday falls on a
weekend or a holiday, the
pay roll is processed on the
next business day. However,
if you miss the time sheet
due date (15th and the 1st
of the month), we cannot
process your payroll checks
until the following pay
period.

Direct Deposits Optional
– All full time
VisionOnline employees
have the option to receive
their pay via direct deposit
per the pay roll schedule
above or they may opt to
pick up (or we can mail you)
your check on the 7th and
the 21st of the month.
Please note that paychecks
are processed on the close
of business on the 7th and
the 21st of the month,
except for weekends and
holidays, but it takes 2
full business days for the
pay roll service to process
your pay roll and for it to
show up in your account.

Health and Dental Insurance
–
VisionOnline uses a
cafeteria style health plan
where employee choose which
benefits he or she would
like to participate in and
share the cost of only those
benefits that he or she
wants. Employees who elect
to receive these benefits
are eligible effective the
1st of the month following
30 days of employment. The
monthly premiums are shared
between the Company and the
employee. The employee
contribution depends upon
the benefits selected. The
following two plans are
available to employees: Blue
Cross Blue Shield Point of
Service or HMO plan.

Blue Cross Blue Shield
Health Plan – Allows
employees to select a
primary care physician from
a list of Blue Cross and
Blue Shield doctors in the
booklet or from the bcbs.org
website. A small per visit
co-pay is required. Benefits
are described more fully in
the plan documents.

Blue Cross Blue Shield
Dental Plan – Allows
employees to go to a private
dentist of his or her choice
from the list of dentists in
the booklet or from the
bluecross.org website. Note:
the dentist may require a
co-pay from the employee.

UNUM Life Insurance –
VisionOnline provides
Life Insurance of 1(x) the
base salary to its employees
up to $50,000 in death
benefits to the beneficiary
selected by the employee.
Additional voluntary life
insurance is available at
discounted group rates
contract. Please contact us
to sign up for additional
coverage or to add an
additional person to the
Group Life Insurance.

UNUM Short-Term Disability
Insurance
– In the event of a
qualifying short-term
disability, if you selected
this insurance, UNUM pays
you up to $1000 per month
after the first 30 days.
These benefits are available
to qualifying employees
after the 1st of the month
following 90 days of
employment with benefits
flowing after first 30 days
of disability leave. For a
complete description of the
plan, along with other rules
and restrictions, ask for
the copy of the policy.

UNUM Long-Term Disability
Insurance – After the
expiration of your
short-term disability
benefits, if you select this
insurance, UNUM pays you up
to 180 days benefits if you
remain disabled as described
in the plan documents. This
benefit is available the 1st
of the month following 90
days of employment with
benefits flowing after the
first 90 days of disability
leave. For a complete
description of the plan,
along with other rules and
restrictions, ask for the
copy of the policy.

Sick Days - Employees
are entitled to up to 5 paid
sick days after 30 days of
employment. A doctor’s note
will be required.
-
Vacation – A maximum of
10 days the first year
(dependent on date of hire),
accrued on a pro rata basis
per paycheck at a rate of
3.20 hours per pay period.
Vacation time accrues but
does not vest during the
first 6 months of employment
and cannot be taken during
that time. One additional
vacation day is accrued on
the employee’s anniversary,
up to a maximum of 21 days.
Please note that unused
vacation time can be carried
over to following the year
after 6 months of employment
to maximum of 10 days of
vacation. There is no cash
reimbursement of unused
vacation time in case of
separation from the company.
Vacation time can only be
used with at least 2 weeks
advanced written notice.

Regular Time – All full
time employees or associates
of
VisionOnline are
required to work minimum of
40 hours per week, Monday
thru Friday between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00
p.m. from the Company’s HQ
or from the Client site
assigned during the
interview, except for
holidays and qualified sick
and vacation leave.

No Comp Time and Overtime
– All fulltime employees
are exempt from the Fair
Labor Standards Act, which
means that they are NOT
entitled to overtime or comp
time pay. However, in rare
circumstances, certain
employees who work on
billable projects to clients
may be entitled to overtime
pay at the employee’s
straight hourly rate.
Client-approval is required
for hours billed in excess
of the client’s normal
workweek generally,
consisting of 40 hours per
week.

Holidays -
VisionOnline
guarantees its employees a
maximum of 8 paid holidays
per year after 6 months of
employment. Unused holiday
time cannot be carried over
into the next year. An
employee may opt to work on
a holiday for comp time
(i.e.: time that you may
take off a later date)
provided Client approval is
obtained first.

Company Standard Holidays
are as follows. However,
if the employee works at a
client site, his or her
holiday schedule may be
different.New Year (January
1.), President’s Day, (Feb),
Memorial Day (May),
Independence Day (July),
Labor Day (Sept.),
Thanksgiving (Nov.),
Christmas (Dec.), One
floating day (free day).

Bench Period Pay Policy
– All full time
VisionOnline technical
staff of the company who are
on a billable project for at
least 6 months (960 billable
hours), and then go on the
“bench or beach," for
example they are not on a
direct company billable
task, are eligible to
receive bench pay from the
company provided he or she
is in good standing with the
Company, as follows: the
first 30 days at one-half of
his or her regular pay, not
to exceed $40,000 per annum,
with continued benefits at
no additional cost, and
thereafter only basic
benefits are covered at no
cost to the employee. One
bench period per 960
billable hours is provided
to the employees.

Business Travel –
VisionOnline pays $.31 per
mile for all round trip
mileage in excess of 60
miles. Tolls are paid
provided as long as original
receipts are submitted.
Pre-approved use of public
transportation in excess of
$10 on a daily basis is
reimbursed to employees
provided original receipts
are submitted and the daily
commute exceeds 60 miles.

Sponsorship – H-1B and
Green Card sponsorships are
offered on a case-by-case
basis. Legal and
administrative costs are
shared between the company
and the employee in
accordance with applicable
law.

Employee Referral Plan –
VisionOnline will
reward an qualifying
employees $2,000 for a
referral that results in the
referee being hired by the
company provided: (1) he or
she works for company for a
minimum of 6 months, (2) he
or she is on a billable
project for at least 3
months (480 hours of
billable time) and (3), the
referring employee is also
employed at the time of
referral maturity date.
**Company HR and Recruiters
are not eligible for this
benefits.

Commission Plan – All
regular salaried employees
are eligible for commission
pay of $1 per hour per
consultant that is placed by
his or her direct marketing
efforts, provided: (1) the
employee directly markets
the candidate to the
prospective client or
manager, (2) candidates goes
on that billable project for
at least 3 months (480 hours
of billable time) and (3),
the referring employee is
also employed at the time of
commission maturity date. A
single lump sum payment is
made at the conclusion of 3
months waiting period.
**Company Business
Development Managers are not
eligible for this benefit.

Training & Education
– Employees can attend
classes at local Colleges
and Universities for tuition
and books costs
reimbursement for a maximum
of two pre-approved courses
per year.

Up to 100% of Tuition
Reimbursement: All
VisionOnline full time
employees are eligible to
receive this benefit
provided he or she meets the
following conditions: (1)
Course relates to the
advancement of employee in
his or her current job, (2)
employee obtains written
permission prior to
enrollment, (3) employee
submits a copy of the
official transcript or grade
report showing course,
grade, fees, and dates of
the course. Reimbursement of
tuition fees is based on
academic performance of the
employee using the following
guidelines.A = 100%, B =
80%, C = 70%, Pass/Fail
courses = 80% for a passing
grade.

100% Educational Book
Reimbursement: All
VisionOnline employees
are eligible to receive this
benefit provided they meet
the following conditions:
(1) books or education
materials are subject matter
relevant to the employee’s
job, (2) employee obtains
written permission prior to
purchasing the book or
material, and (3) employee
submits a copy of the
receipt with an expense
report.

CBT Library: for those
employees who prefer to
study at home, some training
material is currently
available at
VisionOnline offices in
Fairfax. The employee can
check out the CBT CD for
in-home study, or arrange to
come to the office. Current
subjects available: HTML
Programming, C++
Programming, OOP Design,
UNIX, FrontPage 2000,
Windows NT Rational Rose,
CORBA Volume 1-3, and
Mastering UML.
