VisionOnline is certified by the United States Small Business Administration.  ("SBA") as a section 8(a) Minority Owned and Operated Business.  Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act of 1958 permits SBA Certified firms to enter into contracts with the Federal government directly as prime contractor or as a subcontract or that allows the prime to perform the work as a 8(a) certified company.

SIX EASY STEPS TO AWARD AN 8(A) CONTRACT:

  1. Identify a statement of work and earmark funds.

  2. Select the VisionOnline team to perform the work.

  3. Obtain authorization to negotiate from the SBA, usually by telephone.

  4. Prepare a Request For Proposal or Quote, which must include a statement to the effect "Request procurement be made pursuant to Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act 15 U.S.C. 637(a) and in accordance with FAR 19.8"

  5. Evaluate the proposal or oral presentation.

  6. Award the contract.
