Automated Minerals Information Exchange System – Web Portal


In 2001, VisionOnline teamed with ANEK to provide the US Geological Survey a complete technical solution for the AIMS project. The AIMS is an integrated database system that supports the Bureau’s mineral information collection and analysis activities, mineral availability and economic studies, and public land appraisals. The AIMS provides a central source of minerals information that is versatile and responsive to the needs of minerals problems and policy analysts. It will aid in the assessment of U.S. policies and options concerning the minerals necessary for a sound economy and secure nation. Currently, the AIMS consists of 59 Commodity Data Subsystems, the Central Mailing System, the Respondent Control Subsystem, the US Imports/Exports Subsystem, and a Data Dictionary.
